Evidence Exchange Network (EENet) is situated within PSSP at CAMH. EENet is a mental health and addictions knowledge exchange (KE) network that connects stakeholders across Ontario. The EENet community includes researchers, clinicians, decision-makers, service providers, system planners, policymakers, persons with lived experience, and families. The network promotes the use of evidence in decision-making, develops targeted knowledge translation products and tools, and supports interactive exchanges.
Reporting to the Supervisor, EENet, the full-time, contract (1 year) CH&E Specialist (Bilingual Knowledge Broker) will play a key role in supporting EENet in fulfilling identified knowledge exchange needs in Ontario’s mental health and addictions system. The Bilingual Knowledge Broker will employ their expert knowledge of the theory and practice of knowledge exchange to engage in a variety of activities, including: (1) acting as a local connector of knowledge producers and knowledge users (e.g. researchers, planning tables, LHINs, community MH&A programs, hospital MH&A programs, Human Services and Justice Committees, public health bodies, etc.); (2) building and maintaining collaborative relationships with knowledge users to ascertain their knowledge needs and preferences; (3) working with PSSP’s Francophone Engagement Coordinator to support the KE needs of a French-language mental health and addiction service provider network; (4) contributing to the development and implementation of knowledge exchange strategies and providing guidance, tools and training for the development and application of knowledge exchange plans for projects involved with EENet, and EENet overall; (5) developing and facilitating access to appropriate and tailored evidence to enhance understanding and uptake (e.g. evidence briefs, infographics, one-pagers, etc.); (6) developing rapid reviews that are responsive to the decision-making needs of researchers, policymakers, and health care decision-makers across Ontario and engaging with stakeholders to facilitate the application of evidence to effect timely, relevant, evidence-based decisions, and (7) designing, implementing and publishing evaluations of activities to advance the field of knowledge translation and exchange and demonstrate impact. The application of innovative, timely and responsive methods to identify and communicate best practices/proven strategies is an essential element of this role. You will have an understanding of the social determinants of health and the principles of health equity and how they apply in the context of evidence and knowledge exchange. The successful candidate will have a Master’s degree in Health Services, Health Promotion, Knowledge Translation Research, Communications, or a related discipline with at least 3 years’ related experience. Bilingualism (French/English) is required. Experience includes management of complex projects; facilitation of groups; adult education and training; development of work plans, budgets and communication plans; as well as literature search, quality appraisal, applicability assessment and interpretation, and development of literature reviews/ rapid reviews. Understanding of knowledge exchange conceptual models, frameworks and strategies and experience with a range of knowledge exchange methods (e.g. communities of interest, newsletters, workshops, online collaborative spaces, online repositories) with demonstrated ability to research, analyze and develop knowledge exchange options and strategies would be considered an asset. Experience working within research and/or government environments is considered an asset. Experience in areas like mental health promotion and substance use prevention is considered an asset. You will have demonstrated skills in project management, time management, interpersonal communication, and problem solving. Strong oral and written communication skills, and the ability to manage a diverse task load are required. You must be proficient in web-based tools and MS Office software, including spreadsheet and presentation applications, and comfortable with web and social media technologies to foster engagement. The successful candidate must be able to work independently and possess the ability for self-directed learning, but is also able to collaborate well with team members with excellent networking, leadership, relationship building, interpersonal and listening skills to work effectively with a broad range of stakeholders and to facilitate the development of partnerships. Established relationships and demonstrated ability to work in collaboration with marginalised communities is essential. Demonstrated commitment to principles of equity, inclusivity, respect and cultural competence is required.

Salary Range: $31.88 – $43.01 per hour
