Knowledge Translator – Indigenous Child Health

This is a full-time position supporting knowledge exchange with Indigenous communities as part of a collaborative inter-disciplinary research team.


  • Support Indigenous communities to explore the potential of the Aboriginal Children’s Health and Well-being (ACHWM) in their community or agency
  • Monitor and respond to on-line inquiries about an the ACHWM
  • Update and maintain data base
  • Connect with new communities and keep minutes from each meeting
  • Travel to some Indigenous communities is required to develop relationships and lead training sessions on the ACHWM
  • Track key to-do items required to support each community
  • Assist with the monitoring data bases and reporting from those data bases
  • Customize and complete partner agreements with communities
  • Set up RedCap projects for new partners (training will be provided)


  • Under-graduate degree in Health Promotion (BPHE, BHSc), Social Work (BSW), Indigenous Studies (BA), Psychology (BA) or related field
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with various software packages (Microsoft Office, Adobe, RedCap etc.)
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Knowledge of or interest in Indigenous children’s health
  • Able to work independently
  • Lived Indigenous experience is an asset but is not required
