\"SickKidsSickKids Learning Institute<\/strong>
\nA well-developed knowledge translation (KT) plan is often a proposal requirement for health research funding agencies in Canada and abroad. In addition, various sectors are demonstrating greater attention to the utilization and impact of research. The Scientist Knowledge Translation Training (SKTT\u2122) workshop was developed on the premise that scientists, and increasingly, other practitioners and educators, are agents of change in creating research impact, promoting research utilization, and ensuring that research findings reach the appropriate audiences. This course was designed to teach the unique skillset that surrounds KT practice.
\nThis is a one day introduction to knowledge translation planning and practice for graduate students.
\nCourse Objectives<\/strong>
\nIn this course, participants will:
\n– Develop improved knowledge and understanding of KT as it relates to healthcare and other sectors
\n– Learn about evidence-based and innovative KT strategies and develop awareness of how to evaluate impact
\n– Learn to develop KT plans using the KT Planning Template
\n– Improve their ability to communicate research findings to multiple (non-academic) audiences
