This week’s guest post comes from Jennifer Rhodes, Program Manager of Knowledge Mobilization Initiatives at Arizona State University.<\/em>
\nThe Arizona State University Graduate College, in partnership with the Council of Graduate Schools, invite you to attend a unique Knowledge Mobilization event in Washington, DC, on Wednesday, March 14th, from 8-10 a.m., for the grand opening of ASU\u2019s Ambassador Barbara Barrett and Justice Sandra Day O\u2019Connor Washington Center, Event Pavilion, 1800 I Street NW, Washington, D.C., 20006.
\nIn a knowledge-driven society where research, innovation and accountability are at the forefront of public debates and societal agendas, discussions centering on access, uses and impact of knowledge have become the norm. The ASU Graduate College Knowledge Mobilization initiative prepares graduate students and postdoctoral fellows to engage effectively with these trends. A panel of graduate students and postdoctoral fellows from various disciplines will share how they made their research findings and knowledge accessible to alternative audiences through a program entitled \u201cTransformative Knowledge by Design: Graduate Student and Postdoctoral Fellows\u2019 Research Impact.\u201d Panelist Karen Gallagher will share her story about working with veterans with cognitive disorders related to brain injuries while panelist Peter Marting will discuss his work related to ants using artistic mediums. The third panelist, Emily Zarka, will elaborate on her work utilizing literature related to monsters to gauge popular reactions to change.
