The conference themes will address the calls to action on the following five topics: <strong><em>child welfare<\/em><\/strong>, <strong><em>education<\/em><\/strong>, <strong><em>health<\/em><\/strong>, <strong><em>justice<\/em><\/strong> and <strong><em>language and culture<\/em><\/strong>.<br \/>\nCUVIC is a conference that celebrates community-university engagement, a topic that is gaining international attention as communities and universities collaborate towards more sustainable, just, and healthy communities that serve the public good.<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/researchimpact.ca\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/cuvic2016-logo.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-8353\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-8353 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/researchimpact.ca\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/cuvic2016-logo.jpg\" alt=\"CUVIC 2016 logo\" width=\"542\" height=\"288\" \/><\/a><br \/>\n<strong>Now accepting proposals<\/strong><br \/>\nCUVIC is accepting proposals from anyone doing or researching innovative or transformative reconciliation work in the five topic areas listed above\u2014submit your proposal by February 29 at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.uvic.ca\/cuvic2016\/\">uvic.ca\/cuvic2016<\/a>.<br \/>\n<strong>Conference highlights<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Exciting keynote sessions and workshops led by local thought leaders on child welfare, education, health, justice, language and culture<\/li>\n<li>Gala reception in Royal BC Museum\u2019s Living Language Exhibit (First Peoples Galleries)<\/li>\n<li>Several sessions hosted in UVic\u2019s First Peoples House\u2014a social, cultural and academic centre for Indigenous students<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Registration<\/strong><br \/>\nEveryone is welcome\u2014varied perspectives are crucial to creating positive change in our communities.
