{"id":12160,"date":"2014-11-04T11:33:52","date_gmt":"2014-11-04T16:33:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/researchimpact.ydsinc.ca\/rir-welcomes-mcmaster-university-to-our-network-le-rir-accueille-luniversite-mcmaster\/"},"modified":"2021-11-23T16:58:44","modified_gmt":"2021-11-23T21:58:44","slug":"rir-welcomes-mcmaster-university-to-our-network-le-rir-accueille-luniversite-mcmaster","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/researchimpact.ca\/fr\/archive\/rir-welcomes-mcmaster-university-to-our-network-le-rir-accueille-luniversite-mcmaster\/","title":{"rendered":"RIR Welcomes McMaster University to Our Network \/ Le RIR accueille l\u2019Universit\u00e9 McMaster"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>We are pleased to announce that McMaster University has joined the ResearchImpact-Reseau Impact Recherche network.<\/em><br \/>\n<em>C\u2019est avec plaisir que nous annon\u00e7ons l\u2019adh\u00e9sion de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 McMaster au R\u00e9seau Impact Recherche-ResearchImpact.<\/em><br \/>\nOn October 21, the ResearchImpact \u2013 R\u00e9seauImpactRecherche network formally approved an application from McMaster University for admission into the network.\u00a0 RIR now has 11 member institutions across the country.\u00a0 McMaster University is based in Hamilton, Ontario and has a total student population of close to 30,000.\u00a0 McMaster brings strengths in the scholarship of KMb, along with strong and growing community engagement efforts.<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/researchimpact.ca\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/Full_colour-e1415118033634.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-7793 size-medium aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/researchimpact.ca\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/Full_colour-300x165.jpg\" alt=\"McMaster University logo\" width=\"300\" height=\"165\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nO<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-7799 size-full\" style=\"margin: 5px;\" src=\"https:\/\/researchimpact.ca\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/Tony-Porter2.jpg\" alt=\"Tony Porter\" width=\"99\" height=\"128\" \/>n October 23, RIR\u2019s David Phipps and Michael Johnny met with their new counterparts along with selected faculty and staff to discuss knowledge mobilization across the RIR network and at McMaster.\u00a0 The conversations provided opportunities to hear examples of good practice from across the country, discuss the potential for RIR to support and strengthen KMb at McMaster and also to discuss new and emerging opportunities for KMb capacity at McMaster to complement existing work in the institution and throughout the Hamilton community.<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/researchimpact.ca\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/Ailsa-Kay-Fullwood.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-7805\" style=\"margin: 5px;\" src=\"https:\/\/researchimpact.ca\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/Ailsa-Kay-Fullwood.jpg\" alt=\"Ailsa Kay Fullwood\" width=\"128\" height=\"96\" \/><\/a>Tony Porter is the Associate Dean, Graduate Studies and Research, within the Faculty of Social Sciences.\u00a0 Tony will be the Director liaison for RIR.\u00a0 Ailsa Fullwood is Research Facilitator and Knowledge Broker within the Faculty of Social Sciences and will be the broker contact within RIR.\u00a0 The McMaster application was led by their Vice President Research and International Affairs, Mo Elbestawi who stated, \u00a0\u00a0\u201cMembership in RIR will provide us access to burgeoning Canadian expertise in knowledge mobilization and to RIR\u2019s well-connected network for publicizing and promoting McMaster\u2019s research impact\u2026 We are eager\u2026 \u00a0to add McMaster\u2019s voice to the national conversation about how to make research matter\u201d.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\n&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We are pleased to announce that McMaster University has joined the ResearchImpact-Reseau Impact Recherche network.
