We&rsquo;re excited to share some of the stories happening in our province.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/bigtimefbapps.com\/research_impact\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/bojan.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-3436\" style=\"margin:5px;\" title=\"Bojan F\u00fcrst\" src=\"http:\/\/bigtimefbapps.com\/research_impact\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/bojan.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"226\" \/><\/a>When my family and I decided to move to Newfoundland and Labrador some three years ago, there were many raised eyebrows. Friendly advice ranged from warnings that the weather is unpleasant, to the ominous statements that \u00ab\u00a0that place is going to hell in a hand basket, and that everybody with their head screwed on right is leaving for the greener pastures.\u00a0\u00bb<br \/>\nNot that it matter much what they said.<br \/>\nWe landed in St. John&rsquo;s in 2008 and found a vibrant, welcoming community and blueberry covered hills. Our two-year-old couldn&rsquo;t believe her luck.<br \/>\nSix months ago I landed the best job at Memorial University &#8211; manager of knowledge mobilization with the Harris Centre. It sounds like a mouthful, but don&rsquo;t forget that this is academia you are dealing with &#8211; we never miss a chance to make simple things sound complicated.
