{"id":12546,"date":"2009-11-06T11:44:55","date_gmt":"2009-11-06T16:44:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/researchimpact.ydsinc.ca\/researchimpact-hosts-a-visit-by-stockholm-and-uppsala-universities-in-sweden\/"},"modified":"2021-11-23T15:03:30","modified_gmt":"2021-11-23T20:03:30","slug":"researchimpact-hosts-a-visit-by-stockholm-and-uppsala-universities-in-sweden","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/researchimpact.ca\/fr\/archive\/researchimpact-hosts-a-visit-by-stockholm-and-uppsala-universities-in-sweden\/","title":{"rendered":"ResearchImpact hosts a visit by Stockholm and Uppsala Universities in Sweden"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On Friday, October 15, York University&rsquo;s KM Unit hosted a  day-long visit by a delegation of 11 researchers and administrators from  <a href=\"http:\/\/www.su.se\/english\/\">Stockholm University<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.uu.se\/en\/\">Uppsala University<\/a> who were visiting Canada to learn more about successful  Knowledge Transfer and Exchange (KTE) practices.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-1156\" style=\"margin:5px;\" title=\"Steve Gaetz enjoying his bacon\" src=\"http:\/\/researchimpact.files.wordpress.com\/2009\/10\/img00009.jpg\" alt=\"Steve Gaetz enjoying his bacon\" width=\"198\" height=\"167\" \/>Presentations were made from Dr. Stephen Gaetz who leads  Canada&rsquo;s Homelessness Research Repository, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.homelesshub.ca\/Default.aspx\">Homeless Hub<\/a>; Geoff Webb who is  Senior Manager for York&rsquo;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.yorku.ca\/akevents\/academic\/ee\/index.html\">Experiential Education Program<\/a>; Obadiah George and Deb  Kitchener who work with York&rsquo;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.abelearn.ca\/\">Advanced Broadband Enabled Learning Project<\/a> (ABEL) and  Michael Johnny with ResearchImpact.\u00a0 The presentations provided our  visitors with a range of activities and tools that York and its partners in KM  are using to successfully support KM\/KTE.<br \/>\nView the presentations:<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/researchimpact.ca\/_files\/file.php?fileid=fileKGwthEKdfg&amp;filename=file_EEandKT.pdf\">Experiential Education and Knowledge Transfer: Bring Textbooks to Life<\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/researchimpact.ca\/_files\/file.php?fileid=fileFQjWhkNDEL&amp;filename=file_HomelessHub.pdf\">Making Research Matter: Mobilizing Homelessness Research in Canada<\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/researchimpact.ca\/_files\/file.php?fileid=filezacHoWwZOq&amp;filename=file_RIandKM.pdf\">Knowledge Mobilization is Turning Research into Action<\/a><br \/>\nMost, but not all, of the delegates were working in industry liaison or technology commercialization operations but they has a particular  interested in how to meet the needs to scholars in the humanities and social  sciences.\u00a0 <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-1158\" style=\"margin:5px;\" title=\"Michael Johnny and Maria Ljunggren\" src=\"http:\/\/researchimpact.files.wordpress.com\/2009\/10\/img000141.jpg\" alt=\"Michael Johnny and Maria\" width=\"165\" height=\"229\" \/>In the words of Sara Jernberg from Uppsala University Innovation, it  was \u00ab\u00a0really exciting to hear how you are working. I  got a lot of inspiration and good ideas.\u00a0\u00bb\u00a0\u00a0 York VP Research &amp; Innovation,  Stan Shapson, and David Dewitt, Assoc.
