{"id":12585,"date":"2009-06-01T09:07:11","date_gmt":"2009-06-01T13:07:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/researchimpact.ydsinc.ca\/knowledge-mobilization-is-content-agnostic\/"},"modified":"2021-11-23T09:53:08","modified_gmt":"2021-11-23T14:53:08","slug":"knowledge-mobilization-is-content-agnostic","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/researchimpact.ca\/fr\/archive\/knowledge-mobilization-is-content-agnostic\/","title":{"rendered":"Knowledge Mobilization is Content Agnostic"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Agnostic.\u00a0 \u201cSomeone who us doubtful or noncommittal about something\u201d.\u00a0 KM doesn\u2019t care what you\u2019re researching it only cares how you do it.\u00a0 ResearchImpact recently presented on KM to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.shrtn.on.ca\">Seniors\u2019 Health Research and Transfer Network<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/ceris.metropolis.net\">Centre of Excellence for Research in Immigration and Settlement<\/a>.\u00a0 Both groups have a mandate to connect research to policy or practice and asked RI to speak about our experiences developing Canada\u2019s KM network.\u00a0 We also recently touched base with the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.homelesshub.ca\">Homeless Hub<\/a> the emerging Canadian Homeless Research Network, two groups based at York with a mandate to connect research to decision making.<br \/>\nIt doesn\u2019t matter if you care about homelessness, immigration or seniors; health, KM is KM is KM.\u00a0 KM is agnostic to the content but it is concerned with the process.\u00a0 After 3 years of running RI, we are seeking commonalities of methodology:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li> Engage users at ever stage of the research cycle: planning, execution, evaluation, dissemination<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li> <span style=\"font-size:small;\">Focus on push\/pull and the co-creation of knowledge<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li> Recognize that KM is a skill set that needs training and resources<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li> We can evaluate discrete KM interventions but we haven\u2019t a good handle on evaluating KM at the systems level<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Seniors Health.
