MOBILIZEU SUMMER 2025

An 8-week knowledge mobilization course for beginner mobilizers.

Learn from leading knowledge mobilization experts, build skills, discuss with peers, and practice applying what you know!

GENERAL INFORMATION

Who: Designed for faculty, students, staff, research team members, community partners involved in the research cycle and anyone interested in learning about knowledge mobilization

What: Weekly pre-recorded videos, readings, and topic summaries on important topics in knowledge mobilization, optional assignments to activate learning and live Zoom sessions with presentations by knowledge mobilization experts. In English and French simultaneously.

When:

Course dates: June 2nd – July 25th, 2025

Live Zoom sessions: Thursdays, 12:30 – 2:00pm ET (weekly starting June 5th)

Where: Online: via Canvas and Zoom

WHO CAN REGISTER?

RIC-member institutions: faculty, staff, students, post-docs, recent alumni, and community partners from Research Impact Canada member institutions (limit 10-per institution)

NON-RIC: anyone outside of the RIC network interested in learning more about knowledge mobilization

Where: via Eventbrite.

When: April 28 – May 16, 2025

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

RIC-member institutions:

FREE for up to 10

External:

Individual: $800 ($400 for people working at non-profit)

Group – Individual certification (min. 5 people): $400 per person (individual Zoom links, Canvas invitations, and certificates)

Group certification: $2000 (1 Zoom link and Canvas invitation, 1 group certificate)COURSE STRUCTURE:

COURSE STRUCTURE

CORE CONTENT:

The core content teaches the basics of the module topic. It includes:

  1. A pre-recorded video
  2. A reading or resource to watch/read/listen to
  3. A topic summary of the key learnings for the module

Think of the core content like your course lecture and reading. Watching, reading, reviewing these materials is mandatory. They will be shared on Canvas every Monday at 9am ET.

ACTIVITIES:

The activities are additional opportunities to activate your learning. This includes:

  • Assignments: activate your learnings (soft deadline each Friday at 11:59pm, final deadline is one week after end of course)
  • Live Zoom sessions: weekly sessions with expert guest speakers (Thursdays, 12:30-2:00pm ET starting June 5, 2025)

EARNING THE COURSE CERTIFICATE:

To earn the course certificate, you must:

  1. Watch/read/review all the core content for all 8 modules
  2. Complete a total of 6 activities–which 6 you complete is up to you! (For example, you could attend 6 live Zoom sessions, OR complete 6 assignments, OR mix and match!).

The course certificate can be completed entirely asynchronously if you opt out of/can’t attend the Zoom sessions. However, we highly recommend attending live for an opportunity to engage with your cohort and learn from knowledge mobilization experts across the country.
