KPU employs a variety of academic and social media outlets to showcase the curiosity-driven and applied research findings that form a major part of the university’s KMb and KT strategies in the design, sustainability, healthy communities and social innovation fields. For example, the Life Span Cognition Lab will often post “Fun Fact Friday” to showcase research conducted by the lab or by others in the field of psychology. The O.R.G.A.S.M. Research Lab is very active on Instagram and offers updates on research and shares published work from the team. The Institute for Sustainable Food Systems hosts webinars which are recorded and posted on YouTube and promoted on their Facebook page. In 2019, four videos were created to feature major research projects at KPU which were funded Future Skills Centre via Research Impact Canada. They were shared on the Research & Innovation Twitter and Blog and were reposted by their respective faculty and research lab and institute.
Considerable effort has gone into building partnerships within British Columbia by strengthening KPU’s role in the BC Applied Research and Innovation Network (BCARIN), and across Canada through membership in platforms like Research Impact Canada, as well as an on-going commitment to Colleges and Institutes Canada (formerly ACCC). The Office of AVP Research Innovation and Graduate Studies at KPU is constantly building profiles, videos, and infographics to highlight KPU scholars and students, and broadly disseminating their work through our consortia partners.
