Message from David Phipps, RIC Network Director

March is supposed to come in like a lion and go out like a lamb. But that’s about the weather, not about a global pandemic. My husband Gary and I reflect frequently about the privilege we have being able to work from home on a full salary, in fact while further saving money on those things we do or those services we purchase each month that are currently unavailable. My hair dresser Jehn is now unemployed, same with my massage therapist Andrew. The staff at our local pub are laid off although we go for take out far more frequently than we ever ate there just to support them. Knowledge mobilization has always been about recognizing the privilege we have in the university and taking advantage of that to make a positive change in society. What we all need to do now is support each other and imagine a new post-COVID normal where knowledge mobilization is even more important to universities than ever.
