At Bishop’s University, we have identified increasing and showcasing Knowledge Mobilization capacity as a key mandate in our strategic research plan. We believe that our approach to liberal education, our commitment to supporting the local community, and our collaborations across disciplines create an ideal fit with the goals of turning research into action. To that end, we have created and implemented a Graduate Certificate in Knowledge Mobilization. This program is unique in the country: it is multidisciplinary, includes a six-week practicum during which students will apply their learning and develop their skills in the field, and will prepare its graduates for their entry to the job market or to further their studies at the post-graduate levels. Our researchers have a rich record or engagement with community partners, policy makers and the general public. Bishop’s University is also the first university to join the Yaffle family. Yaffle is a knowledge-brokering tool developed at Memorial University, that connect people inside and outside the university.
