Central to the work of the Knowledge Mobilization Unit at York University is brokering collaborative research projects and activity. We seek to connect York University researchers (faculty and graduate students) with community organizations, business and industry leaders, and policy professionals in all levels of government. Our knowledge brokers help support researchers to build a mutually beneficial relationship with prospective non-academic partners.
In addition to brokering collaborative research projects, KMb staff provide services in training and capacity building in KMb (as evidenced through its innovative Mobilize YU course), facilitating collaborative events for researchers and non-academic stakeholders, and offer tailored grant support for researchers through offering feedback and in-kind support for KMb plans in research grant applications. Along with our colleagues within Innovation York, we seek to facilitate and maximize the impacts of research and innovation.
