MobilizeU Summer 2024

MobilizeU is a course designed for faculty researchers, postdoctoral fellows, graduate students, staff, alumni, and community partners who are interested in learning more about Knowledge Mobilization (KMb).

Join our 8-week, online, self-directed knowledge mobilization course. Taught by leading knowledge mobilization experts, MobilizeU features pre-recorded videos, core readings, live Zoom sessions, and hands-on assignments. Learn theory, build skills, discuss with peers and practice applying what you know! Apply now.

The course will take place between June 3 and July 26, 2024, using Canvas and Zoom.

WHO CAN APPLY?

Anyone interested in learning more about knowledge mobilization may apply to take the course but preference will be given to faculty, postdocs, staff, graduate students and alumni who have graduated in the last two years from a Research Impact Canada member organization.

HOW DOES THE APPLICATION PROCESS WORK?

Registration is limited to 15 participants per Research Impact Canada member organization. Applicants will be notified in mid-late May if they have been admitted into the course. We will also create a wait list in case additional spaces become available.

WHAT ARE THE COURSE DATES?

The course will run from Monday, June 3 to Friday, July 26, 2024. Core content for each week’s topic including videos, readings, and resources will be uploaded to the course online platform every Monday morning starting on June 3rd. Participants can watch/read core content on their own schedule.

The core content will be brought to life with a weekly live Zoom session on Thursdays from 1-2:30pm ET starting June 6th, 2024. Live sessions will feature presentations from leading knowledge mobilization experts, and breakout room discussions. These sessions will also be recorded and made available to watch later.

WHERE WILL THE SESSIONS TAKE PLACE?

This course is fully online (Canvas and Zoom) and self-directed. The core content videos and readings will be made available on Canvas for participants to watch and read according to their own schedules.

IS A COURSE CERTIFICATE AVAILABLE?

Participants must complete 6 activities to earn a certificate. Activities include assignments and live Zoom sessions.

For example:

  • Attend 6 live sessions
  • Complete 6 assignments
  • Complete 2 assignments, attend 4 live sessions
  • Complete 5 assignments, attend 1 live session
  • Or any combination adding up to 6!
