University of Victoria Contacts Name: Jen Kyffin Title: Community Liaison Officer Email: email@example.com Links Website Over its five-decade history, UVic has emerged as one of Canada’s leading research universities, ranking among the top Canadian universities in terms of per capita research funding, and in the impact of its scholarly and creative work. UVic is also a leader in community-university research partnerships, having created one of the first university-based Knowledge Mobilization (KMb) units in Canada in 2006. Located within the Office Vice-President Research & Innovation, the Research Partnerships and Knowledge Mobilization unit (RPKM) provides campus-wide support for the development of mutually beneficial research collaborations. It also offers a suite of practical services that support university, community and industry stakeholders in the mobilization of knowledge for societal benefit. We connect faculty and graduate students with community, industry and government sectors, providing support for a range of research-related activities including: networking, training and knowledge mobilization events; grant applications; project agreements; intellectual property arrangements; and other assistance navigating the collaborative research environment, as required. We believe that by working together, communities and universities can make a positive difference in the quality of research and in the social innovation and policies that shape society.
