On March 2, 2023, Research Impact Canada (RIC) hosted a peer learning group on “Challenges in Community Engagement.” The primer presentation was conducted by Lisa Attygalle, Director of Engagement, from Tamarack Institute. Community engagement was an area of concern for some of our Future Skills Centre Community of Practice members and they wanted to learn more about navigating the challenges around it from an expert. RIC invited Tamarack Institute to present strategies, tips, and solutions. Afterwards, participants were divided into breakout rooms to discuss their own ideas on how to overcome community engagement challenges. The session concluded with a summary of the key points from each breakout room.
