Presenting and conversing bilingually

Making your presentations accessible is important for effective knowledge mobilization. In Canada, French and English often coexist, but it is frequent that an audience contains listeners that are not only English-speaking!

These guides offer a step-by-step procedure to active translated subtitles in PowerPoint, enabling to speak one language and display a live script in another language, as well as in Microsoft Translator, which enables speakers with different language background to interact and have a multilingual conversation.

These were developed by Louis Melançon, research assistant at Research Impact Canada, in collaboration with Félix Desmeules-Trudel (Research Impact Canada), Virginie Portes (University of Montreal), and members of the RIC Bilingualism Working Group.
